I purchased a vanilla e-gift Visa card from Walmart.com. After receiving the card, I attempted to use it and add it to my Google Wallet account, but it declined.

Everything I tried to do was declined. I have tried to use this e-gift card at several merchants where I have successfully used vanilla Visa e-gift cards before, but this card won't budge. I called the number for the vanilla gift card seven times; no one helped me. They just gave me the runaround each time.

One agent told me the card can't be replaced, even if it's not my fault?!

This isn't right. I'm out of $50.00!!!

Pros:
  • Convenient to purchase
Cons:
  • No help for a defective egift card

Vanilla Gift - Defrauded of $80 minutes after act
Updated by user Feb 06, 2026

I believe I was defrauded by a sophisticated operation, unless the 1-800 number ending in 6760 actually belongs to Vanilla Visa gift card as soon as you start talking to customer service you know or believe that you've been defrauded which is why you're calling anyway and that you're not going to get anything accomplished on this phone call, especially since after you've been defrauded after my money was stolen when I called it it start to explain what happened the lady, daisy, hung up on me six separate times after the fourth and fifth time she changed her name but the voice was still the same and when I said you're not who you say you are your Daisy the lady I just talked to again she hung up on me I mean it feels like fraud it feels like sophisticated fraud and after they get your money from you they no longer give a *** about the far part of it cuz they got what they came for so they throw it in your face that they stole it from you without saying it by hanging up on you and trying to discourage you on trying to get your money back and telling you lies about fraud Department phone numbers that send you to a sexual orientated phone conversation

Original review Feb 06, 2026
I purchased two separate gift cards from Walmart in Stockton, California, off of March Lane—one for $50 and one for $30. I went online to the website to activate them, then went to an ATM an hour or so later to withdraw money off of the cards, and they were declined.

The following day, I tried to use the cards, and there was a remaining balance of 18-something cents on one card and maybe $7 on the other, and purchases have been made through some transaction or another that I'm not aware of. I've never used the cards; I didn't have time to use the cards, but there are transaction histories in the web browser, and I could try to upload them so you can see the transactions I'm talking about. I have disputed all of them, but with no evidence on my part that I haven't used the cards other than my word, I don't understand how I possibly stand a chance to have my money refunded. But I promise you, someone stole money from me, and they did it quickly and efficiently.

The customer service number—a lady named Daisy—will continuously answer and then hang up on me once I start explaining who I was and my problem. This is the number I called: 183********.

It's going to sound crazy, but I called back a number of times, and she tried to change her voice and her name to convince me she was a different operator. She gave me a false number to call for the fraud department, which is the following: 180027****.
Loss:

Pros:
  • No pros that i can recognize

Preferred solution: Full refund

User's recommendation: I'm sorry but I wouldn't responding this card just so nothing in the world, whoever did this wasn't a single person was an organization and they stole the money right when I needed to get housing for the night for me and my daughter after being put out by my ex-girlfriend

Vanilla gift was used by a scamming organization to persuade me to purchase cards that they then took the money from for themselves. I’ve used the VanillaGift website to report this and ask them to resolve this issue.

I’ve received no response. I want to dispute the charges since I was defrauded.

Original review Feb 12, 2026

Very unhappy and dissatisfied with the lack of substantive help. The scammers are using my Amazon Prime account to try and get me to buy gift cards from Zip and Vanilla Gift. They are very clever, but they become suspicious when they tell you not to tell your credit card company you're having a problem purchasing the gift card with your credit card.

Preferred solution: Full refund

I believe I checked my Vanilla Visa Gift Card balance multiple times, and when I try to go back on it once again, it says there's an error, but I have $50 on the card. Also, by the way, this makes me angry that it couldn't go back in and see my balance. Did they lock me out?

User's recommendation: Yeah if you try to check your balance on this website multiple times it will lock you saying that there's an error.

DISAPPOINTED

It was unbelievably disappointing since I wasn't able to communicate issue with a live agent to explain why situation at hand..

I would appreciate one of your Vanilla representative to contact me as this is a serious concern that needs to be resolved..

The balance on my gift card was "hacked" and should be investigated immediately.

AI Highlights
  • - Case filed Nov 27, 2025 for a Robux charge; case 8274****.
  • - It was told to hold until February; I discarded the receipt and need the card released.

Hi, so I made a case on November 27, 2025, and when I made that case, it was about a charge with Robux. I accidentally clicked it thinking it was accepting the confirmation as English is not really my first language.

The case number is 8274****. It's currently April 15, 2026.

I got told it would be on hold till February, and I called one time and they told me if I had the receipt, but I threw it away. Please help and get my card off hold as I do need it.

Preferred solution: my card off hold
